Commissions
Commission a painting
Alongside her own work, Jill paints to commission — portraits of people, families and the occasional dog, and landscapes of the places that matter to you.
Portraits
People, and the way you know them
Jill paints people in the context where she knows them — family, friends and members of the community — searching for likeness and a sense of the person rather than a stiff, posed record. Dogs very welcome.
Landscapes
A place that means something
A favourite walk, a view from a window, an allotment or a stretch of river — Jill works from direct observation and sketches on site, then develops the painting in the studio in oil, pastel, watercolour or mixed media.
How it works
A simple, personal process
-
01
Get in touch
Tell Jill who or what you’d like painted, a rough sense of size, and where the finished piece will hang.
-
02
A conversation
Together you’ll settle on the approach, medium and timescale, and Jill will give you a clear price. Portraits work from sittings or photographs; landscapes from visits and sketches.

03
The work
Jill paints, sharing progress along the way. You see the piece before it’s finished, then it’s ready to collect or have delivered.
Commission prices depend on size, medium and subject, and Jill will always agree a clear price with you before starting. Get in touch for a quote and an idea of timescale.
